there are a lot of cute girls at my work. Once in a while some of them will remark about how they love the sound of my daily driver '89 Chevy Silverado 1500 (1 chamber flowmaster). The truck is an absolute ugly beast though. its lowered and sounds good is about the only thing its got going for it. Well one day i had my flatbed trailer hooked up to it with my LUV on the back as I was towing it to a friends shop to get some work done on it. well on my lunch break i came out to a decent size group of people, mainly chicks standing around the trailer looking at the LUV. mind you its black primer and VERY ugly right now. well i guess the 4" exhaust kinda caught their eye. so anyway i pulled my truck and trailer out into the street and put the ramps down and fired it up. everybody jumped and there was a lot of "holy shit"being said in the crowd. i warmed up the motor and backed it off the trailer into the street. i didnt do a burnout or anything and the slicks were aired up to about 18lbs but i backed it up into the cul de sac, loaded the converter and gave it a medium hard launch. I spun kinda hard, nailed second gear and then let off. I came back to load it up on the trailer and admire the twin black stripes on the street. I noticed that some of the girls were jumping up and down all happy like they had never seen anything like that. Thats pretty much the only time something like that has ever happened to me. I mean most young girls could give a crap about a 1978 Chevy LUV truck (if they even know what it is). that whole deal was an ego stroke for me. anyway by the end of the day i got called into the HR department and got a lecture about doing that... but it was worth it. Next time ima give them a nitrous purge, burn out and a 3 gear bottle pass in front of our new corporate office building.
Anyway a guy that works at Angel Studio/Rockstar video games next door to us said to let him know when I'm going to do that next so he can get some of the other rockstar car guys out there and get some video of it. Who knows, the LUV footage could get made into one of their video games like they did for some other local cars.
