Just to make sure there isn't any confusion, it was IZUSU!!!!!
Izusu/Luv
Mitsubishi/Dodge D50
Mazda/Courier
was the way it went down.
I think it is funny now though that Chevy builds the Izusu Hombre now.

If i remember correctly, G.M. had share interest in Isuzu at the time when they were building Luv trucks. It was the fast way of selling fuel conserving vehicles in the USA. I believe it's also the the reason for the national speed limit to be reduced to 55 MPH because the flood of Japanese cars and trucks that were imported to the U.S. couldn't survive freeway speeds for too long.

Just thought I'd add my 10 LUVs to the tally, all of them were made by Isuzu. Says Isuzu ont the door, on the motor in several places (most conspicuously the valve cover), the owners manual, and several dozen other places I'm forgetting.

Reminds me of an old commercial:

IHHH, SUUUU, ZUUUU... now you try

ISSWOO!

Dats okay bud, I cant say Cheveroray.
