I have been thinking about different things to do with a LUV, one thing I thought about doing is mounting a motor in the bed. Has anyone ever heard of or seen someone doing this? I think if I can find a trans-axle to fit a 350, I would give it a shot...

I showed once at World of Wheels and lost to an incredible Dodge D50 with a rear motor. He put an Old Toronado drivetrain in it. Lotta work!

Never seen one, but I heard a rumor of a Datsun that had a V8 in the bed under a tonneu cover, and still had the 4 cyl in the stock location. Rumor was that these guys would setup races with people, start up the stocker and rev it a few times, then start up the V8 and win the race. The guy that told me the story said that only the V8 would move the truck.

There is a guy here in Medford, that has a luv that he stretched the frame and has a big block that sits right behind the cab. He runs it at the track, and w/ nitrous, it runs in the 9's or so. Kinda neat, but I wouldnt do it to my truck  One of these days I will get a pic.

If it's a yellow one, I have seen it, They have an old datsun too they race out here in Redding. I have pics of them somewhere, I wasnt really impressed with the numbers the datsun was running, but it was different.
