 Post subject: 2.8 engines

does anyone know if there is a difference in the blocks for a 1983 carb 2.8 engine and a 1986 2.8 f.i. engine? witth the blocks interchange? thanks

I believe the 2.8L was the same carb or efi up to mid to late '87 when they switched from external to internal balancing for the crankshaft... that helped reduce the crankshaft breakage problem of the earlier motors...
