WHAT I BELIEVE I AM LOOKING AT IS A VENT TUBE ON THE FRONT AXLE ON MY 80 4X4.... I DO BELIEVE THAT VENT HOLE SHOULD HAVE A TUBE OR SOME THING TO KEEP THE CRAP OUT??!!! THE SAME GOES FOR THE REAR AXLE ALSO??? I AM ALSO WONDERING IF I PUT A PIECE OF HOSE ON THE THING I SHOULD RUN IT WHERE??? BESIDES THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT?? THE THING WITH RUNNING A TUBE IS I AM AFRAID THAT TWIGS, STICKS AND JUST PLAIN OLD JUNK, MAY TAKE THE VENT TUBE OFF AND END UP LOSING THE THING ON THE TRAIL SOMEWHERE. WHAT IS A REPLACEMENT FOR A RUBBER TUBE?? I HAVE SEEN SOME JEEPS AND OTHER 4X'S HAVE A SPECIAL VENT, ONE THAT LETS IT BREATH BUT KEEPS THE CRAP OUT. ANY INFO, OF COURSE WILL GREATLY BE APPRECIATED!!

Well, there is suppossed to be a tube coming off of the axle; however, they should have a little crimp-on cap on top of them, if you don't have one then you could just pull a vent or two off of a junkyard truck.

Isuzu axles have a little check valve type thingy on thier axles. There are no tubes. It is that way on my 79 and my 80 LUV and the 80 LUV has been in the familly its whole life so i doubt they were taken off by my dad.
