get the back glass out without messing up the seal? i don't want to break anything. it's very hard and dry on the outside, but not too bad on the inside.

Start by cleaning it up on the outside. Light scrubbing and soap, then maybe a good rubber treatment. I'm not sure what would work best, I've heard a lot of stories about armor-all just drying things worse. I've heard better things about Blue Coral products. Depending on the type of rubber, some clean motor oil (dino, non-synthetic) can help rewet it and restore it to life, tho I'm not sure how the luv window seal will respond for certain.

If you can start by restoring it a little bit, that will make it more supple and less prone to cracking/crumbling. Then you start carefully on the inside. Work the gasket over the edge of the sheetmetal and just keep working around. It will come out the back eventually, so it might help to have someone working with you.

i use 2 people, have someone get inside and push on the glass. you will see the window and seal start to come out of the cab. push mostly on the bottom of the glass as it is the widest. have some one on the out side and pull carefully on it work your way across until you have the whole bottom out and it should basicaly fall right out. takes like 5 min. i did it in washington when i went up to get my truck. when i got to it the said i could have my choice of the two trucks. and the one i picked had a sliding rear window, i dont like them so i asked if i could have the solid window out of the other one. He told me i could and i had no tools so me and my buddy popped it out.
