 Post subject: chopping the top??

does anybody have good info on chooping the roof of a luv or similar truck? i kinda wanna do it but looks really tuff

Dont do it unless there is A glass shop that can cut the windshield for you. I would look into that before you start. You also have to consider what you are going to do with the side glass.

yep, the glass is the hardest part of the whole thing, there is a chop top luv here in my town though, I'll get some pics of it this weekend.

I started a web site for modes for the luv didn’t have much time tonight but a did down load the top chop how to…. will post more like how to cut your windshield, consoles, lift kit, metal visor, tilt wheel, shaved door handles, sink your license plate, stepside install, suicide doors, tilt bed, tilt front end, t-tops, turbo and off course V-8 luv.... will try and do some more this weekend. :lol:

can somebody give me a measurment of how tall a side window is because i looked at my truck today and it kinda looks like it is already chopped. Also my wing window is already pointed at tht top like the one in the pics of the truck they chopped. My truck is a 72 so im not sure if they came pointed

If you dont have it I might, I have almost every issue of Truckin (missing about 20 issues) from the beginning till I let my sub run out early last year. (of course I am missing the one I want the most from the 70's with one of the sweetest Luvs I had ever seen (at the time))(it has a campar on it 8O ). Also on the chop question, you never told us your skill level with bodywork and welding. I look at it this way and no offense to you, but if you have the skills to do it, you really dont need to ask on something like that, unless you were just looking for pointers, not how to completely do it.
