Ok Guys, Im totally confused Now, I got the luv the other night from around the corner from my house. I drove it home and it ran like a dream. Then the next day I went to the servo to fill up the fuel. I filled it up all the way and then it started pissing out of a hose that i didnt notice was hangin down next to the fuel tank for a minute or so and then it stopped, It seems to be a breather hose or something. Then I left the servo, and it was driving fine I went for about a 10 minute drive and then it died in the ass, sounded like it was runnin on 1 cylinder, I had to wait about 15 min each time to finally get it to start to be able to only drive a minute before it would die again. Any suggestions? I think it must be over fueling...but im no mechanic.....please help

If'n it was me, I'd disconnect both the small line (sounds like the return line) and the line fuel line from the fuel pump at the rear and blow them out from the front where they connect to the carb at the goosenecks on the float bowl.

There are a bunch of lines going to the fuel tank that can leak fuel if they are not hooked up. One goes up to the filler neck and acts as a breather when filling the tank. It should hook right up next to the main filler hose up under the fender. and the rest go to the expansion tank that is hidden behind that panel in the front driver's side of the inside of the bed. Hook them up if you can, plug them off if you can't. Dirt, bugs, and all sorts of stuff will end up in your fuel if they are not capped or hooked up.

What you describe also sounds like it could be water in the gas. With an open line like that it is not hard for that to happen. My 77 apparently has a leak somewhere around the filler hose or breather, I've been getting water in the gas every once in a while when it rains.

I bought a Luv that had been sitting for about a year. It did the same thing that yours is doing. On mine the gas tank was so plugged with the tar like build up from the evaporated gas that it plugged everything and made the engine starve and die after a few minutes of driving. Then after I waited a while it would crank back up and run fine for a minute or two. It would run perfect at idle but i tried to give it osme gas it would die. I would check that to see if its that. If so take it to a radiator shop and have them boiled the tank out for you. And be sure to replace the fuel filter.
