What year did the stager LUV emblem come from, the one like ctmdo has in his posts? I was thinking of removing mine totally or possibly going to the 1980 set. Which emblem is the rarest?

I'd say the rarest is the 72 emblems which are just the letters LUV with periods after them. 73-74 was LUV with the bowtie after them. The ones like ctmandu has are from like 75-78 I think.

i got one, i got one!! only one but it was free. just found it today. would anyone be interested in a set of tailgate latches? found them today also but i didn't pick them up. look to be in good shape. anyone interested, i'll check how much. tailight lenses also, red, yellow, clear.

I was just wondering, I have the staggered ones with the bowtie.

yep those are my favorite and every time i have found them they have been on a 76/77

Those staggered bowtie ones are 76-77 for sure, but not certain that they might not be 75 as well. I'd have to check my parts book. 78 they went to the LUV with the square box under it emblem, 4x4s had a 4x4 badge in the box, 2wds just say Chevrolet in the box. I forget off the top of my head what the 73-74(75?) ones looked like, block letters like the 72 only minus the dots I believe.

72 specific parts are the rarest in general, there were a lot less trucks made that year, and of course they have been around longer to be damaged. There is a surprising number of parts that are 72 only. The whole gauge cluster is different, the glove box, and quite a few other interior parts. The Gauges are very similar looking to later parts even up the 77s, but the two pods are seperate and just fit into a flat plate. The Fuel/Temp gauge also had the turn signal indicators built into it.

My 78 has the stagged ones, 79 they changed them.
