Well I dropped my luv last night, here's a shot of that.

And when i got home from work today I dropped it even more. The front is lowered with the torsion bars and the rear is lowered with sand bags. lol, yeah, that's my winter traction. :)

I can't wait until I finally get all my body work done and it painted. Hopefully I'll get my motor swap the same weekend as paint, that way I can paint the engine bay while my motor is out. Anyways, thanks for looking...

awsome man. How much sand do you have in the back of that thing. Seems like it should be a good couple hundred pounds...

I'll try and weigh a stock LUV and a V8 LUV this weekend. Gonna be working at a place with a scale fairly close to the house on Saturday.

Hey Kicker, are the mounting plates on your seats flat? I'm trying to look for some different seats for mine as one of them is tilting and one sits a little high, and look funny.

no they aren't. Two were good, I took a hammer and beat the third one so it's almost right. I have three bolts in each seat, the 4th mounting location isn't even close to what I need. When I get my civic seats in a couple weeks I'm going to cut the old brackets off and weld new ones on. What kind of seats do you have?

I got Blue 90's corrolla seats, they're in good condition but I'd like something like those 911 seats CTMandu's.

What do you mean by the seats are too high? I scored some 90 accord seats for $70 I just have to go get them. If there to tall I may think twice.

there's usually two problems, one is that the luv floors are flat where as accords and many other small cars do not have flat floors. So the brackets are uneven, here's a pic I drew up really quickly

Image

Some of the brackets stick down further than others, so you have to modify the brackets.

And the second is that they do stick up higher than the stock seats. I thought it was gonna be a problem but after driving for a day or two it became normal and I don't even notice it now. For me I do have the seats all the to the back of the cab and I never slide them forward. You'll probably do the same so maybe you could take off the mounting brackets and find some way to bolt the slider on the seat down to the floor, that would drop you down a couple inches. I'll probably do that when I find the exact seats I want.
