I'm kinda biased, My truck was given to me w/ a shell on it, picture it...red truck...white shell   need less to say it got taken off some time ago  main reason being that it weighs some where around 400+lbs 8O 8O 8O kinda hard on a underpowered truck   I wouldn't mind having one on...if it didn't weigh a ton!!!! the paint part I can take care off really easy, it's the weight problem that is more of an issue. Oh and your truck looks pretty good    I will say that a lifted LUV looks even better with a shell   hint...hint

Wow, I cant believe how much your truck looks like mine use to when I first started building it over 20 years ago! 8O

I wanted a topper like that with the window on the roof but couldnt find one so I had to settle for this one. I even had the same pinstripe!! I also wanted the gold faced rims also but couldnt quite afford them so I got the aluminum or that would have been the same also.

Chavyluv79, I think it looks o.k. If you have a use or need for a shell, it works. I mean, it's not ugly.

Tilted, That flat roof shell is the type I always liked better. Not as useful but better style.

So it just depends on what you want the shell for.

When I was a kid I wanted to cut out the back of the cab and front of the bed, with a flat top shell on it, to make a mini van type thing .

Image

This is one I saw in Douglas Az. for sale a while back. It is cut inside. The owner said he bought it new from the dealer this way, so it must be a conversion deal.

You want one like I had??? Try Glasstite, that was the company that made mine, wasnt to light weight though, was a little of a struggle for 2 people, weighed a lot more than the shell on my S10 , but it doesnt have side windows and the LUV shell had a fiberglass back window frame.

When I bought my truck it had a old man camper shell on it. I took it off right when I got it then put it on for a while again because it was turning winter. But I couldn't stand it on there though. So it is off again. But I did have a lot of gooooood times in the back of that with it on. :D 8) :D
