just stole a 81 luv with a 2.2l for 175.00 but its missing the vacuum pump and lower alternator bracket. anybody out there know where i can go to replace em? i know i can fab the lower bracket and switch the power brakes over to non-powered brakes, and i know i can loop the oiler line for the pump back down to the pan, but the truck was engineered this way for a purpose and just as soon keep it that way if possible.

Here are some thoughts. You can buy an aftermarket vaccuum pump (sold thru brake suppliers to hot rodders who run heavily cammed engines ((they apparently have virtually no vaccuum)) and need power brakes). The Isuzu pump itself is very simple, but to find one is tough. I bought a rebuilt distributor thru the local auto parts distributor, but does not include the pump. I think to change to a manual brake cylinder would be somewhat reasonable task--or add aftermarket vaccuum pump. As for braket, I think your idea of fabbing one is probably a good idea--wonder if a gas lower bracket would be the same as the 2.2 diesel?

There's a couple who sell some old Isuzu parts on the Yahoo! ISUZUTD group. They're also on eBay occasionally. He's "Dart" and she's "Deb" and their email address is sqdeb@yahoo.com. You might also try my IsuzuPup.com forum in the "Parts for Sale / Wanted" category.
