I posted this in another section also, but I'm sticking it up here so that folks won't have problems with particular Webers: 32/34 DFT and 28/32 ADHA. Not all Webers are created equal.
RE: Weber 32/34 DFT and 28/32 ADHA
Seems there's a problem getting the linkage I got from Pierce to fit this setup on a 75 LUV. I think they sent me the stuff to adapt a 32/36 DGV and the bellcrank doesn't want to work.
The carbs, both of them, have the throttle pull in the wrong direction for a '75. Stock has the cable pulling from driver's fender side with the throttle linkage pulled back to that side by the cable. Both these carbs are set up so that cable should pull in the opposite direction, as having cable pulling from passenger side. Also the orientation of the Pierce bellcrank holes, especially the mounting hole with flats on it, require that the throttle cable pull straight up or straight down because of a difference in the throttle shaft. That is, the flats on the throttle shaft and the flats on the mounting hole don't want to jive.
Also the throttle cable mounting bracket from Pierce has the wrong orientation, as if it is also designed to hold a cable pulling from opposite side of carbretor.
I'll call Pierce again today, but I wanted to post this as a warning not to jump on just any old Weber you find! I can fabricate what I need, but the adapter plate and linkage have already cost me $75 from Pierce so far and I don't know if they'll take them back or what.
