You can unplug both wires at the switch and hook them together. If your lights work then you know it can only be the switch that is bad. Should be on all the time that the key is on.

Reverse lights are commonly pretty corroded on LUVs. The gasket on the tailight starts leaking at the bottom first it seems, and the bulb sockets get pretty nasty. Bypass the switch, turn on the key, and then take the lense off the tail lights and wiggle/replace bulbs until it works. Turn off the ignition if you are going to clean the sockets with anything metal as that will avoid shorting something out.

Thank you for the info.
Now, where can I buy a reverse switch?

GM dealer maybe, Isuzu dealer maybe. try http://isuzu.stcharlesauto.com and see if they can find you one if your local GM dealer strikes out. St Charles has a very good parts department for finding tough to get parts, and they usually do free shipping.

Failing that, head to the junk yards. The switch off an Isuzu up to say 86 or so would be a fair bet to work as well as one off a LUV.
