I finnally got the friggin header on! :drinking: Its amazing how good header bolts do when they arnt stripped out! Its also been a pain because the exhaust is hooked up and it makes the header move in a different spot and its hard to make it perfect to get every single bolt in the head. I was stuck on that last bolt for like 20 min! :x

it runs and drives now. and it hasnt leaked a drop of tranny fluid!!! now all that left to do is adjust the shifter, and solve a bad detonation problem. other than that it runs and drive SOOOOO good now.

:D UPDATE :D

I did end up going with a new tranny. It is a stock th350 I got for $80. I had no idea that it would work or not. Well I put it in and sure enough the tranny works like a charm. It shifts really solid, doesn't slip at all, and NO LEAKS. It'll roast the tires 1st-2nd-3rd and get completly sideways no problem. I still can't belive what a non slipping tranny did to my gas milage, speed and acceleration, and the tranny heat issue.

Are you shure the '81 Luv wasn't flat black. If it is that would be Cody's, he went to Caldwell High with me and farmertard. I dont know who the guy with the long hair you are talking about its.

man the thing has really come along now. we started out with a overdrive tranny, and now it has a th350. it had open headers, and now it has really nice exhaust. man.

So was the overdrive trans. bad to start with or was the v8 to much for it and destroyed it? I love the idea of a v8 luv with an overdrive for the freeway mileage.

yeah, it was bad when we bought it. the person thta had it before lee had it hooked up to a full roller 327 in a conquest. the tranny guy that lee took it to said that the input clutches were burnt up, and that the reason it was puking the tranny fluid from the vent.

but it did do great on the freeway though. we could do 80 at 2000rpm. it was sweet.
