well we took it for its maiden voyage today. we took it to the muffler shop and it did ok on the way there. the tranny shifter into all the gears. the lockup in 4th gear works to.
it now has true dual exhaust now done with 2.5 aluminized pipe. it sounds really good.
we did have one little holdup though. when we pulled it out of the muffler shop it wasnt runnin worth a crap. so we knew why, was because the rockers werent adjusted just right. so i pulled the valve cover and i notice a pushrod missing. so i get a magnet on a stick, and i pull out 2/3s of a pushrod. i guess, the rocker had loosend up so much that it jumped out if the little hole on the rocker and busted the pushrod. lee got the other piece of the pushrod out though. so we adjusted the rockers and had a friend of ours bring us a new pushrod and we on our way.

this thing does sooo good on the hiway. itll do 70mph at 1700rpms!

well thats just a small update. i might make another video sometime soon.

its kinda funny you ask that.
me and a friend that helped on the truck were like "we should just start a business for building v8 luvs, at the speed were turnin em out." i though that it was funny, cuz we did peeroys 80 in 3 weeks. it would have been even faster if we didnt have to wait for parts.

the posi is just for a 26 spline 7.5 inch rearend. they put the 7.5s in alot of GM cars.

Well my tanny took a crap last night. I already got the engine and the 2004R out of the truck. I really need to find a different tranny I can use. I will probably end up with another th350 like the '78 had.

I'm confused. Is the trans. that blew last night the same truck that just got exhaust and a push rod? I like the idea of an overdrive and 1700 rpm on the road. So please tell me thats not the trans that blew up.

yes it WAS the tranny that has overdrive. that tranny is no longer in the truck. where that tranny once resided there is a bone stock TH350 that we got for free (we think :?: ) the motor is back in the truck with the th350 and it was almost done, BUT LEE WAS TIRED!!!! it is 410 in the morning on the 18 of september. 5 hours i will be at the track, RACING. lee will be trying to put his header on. i feel like getting drunk.
