Ok, stupid question here, but I need a bit of help. That box that's bolted to the inside of the bed on the driver's side. I did a search on it, and from what I read it's an evaporator box? Vapor tank? What exactly is that? If I'm correct in my research, it's a box for collecting evaporated gasoline vapors from the carb and/or tank, right? If I'm correct, then is it absolutely necessary, or is it emissions? I'm wanting to switch the stock tank from an old junker to my truck, but now that I've got the bed wrenched off the bad one, I'm looking at the tank and seeing that the steel lines are corroded and rusty. I'm a perfectionist, and as I could probably just get away with stripping and protecting these lines, I'd like to simply get rid of, or replace, the unnecessary lines. Anyhow, I'm not going to bore you with more details, just wanting to know the smartest and cheapest way around this minor problem.
Thanks,
Jess
