Hey guys as u can tell dont know jack about Luvs Well i own a 80 4x4 and have found a 77 with a new motor thats been sitting for about 4 years or longer Longer by the looks of it. The motor runs and everything checks out pretty good. Now i need to restore about everything on the 80 model due to rust. Will everything like fenders and doors and such bolt right up? Only differance i saw was the the 77 had 4 lights in front. and that the side turn lights on fenders stuck out farther than the ones on my 80. The guy who owns the truck is very old with a beard down to his belly button he looks like he just came from the old show gun smoke. said he has been in bad health for 15 yrs and not able to drive. he says he had a new motor put in it about a month b4 he became ill and its sat every since. From the looks of the motor it looks new no oil or anything and has all the original paint. The body has alot of surface rust no hole and never been wrecked. just rusted where its sat for sooooooo long. He wants 300.00 for it do u all think its worth it? THanks for the help.

im pretty sure that all the body panels should botl right up. the only diff between the 2 light and 4 light was the grill and bezels

They should fit. I have a question for you, is the 77,s underside sorta not rusted out? I'm in search of a cab for my 80.

Front body (cab and front) is basically the same 72-80. The doors may have wing windows on 77 and older, but they bolt up in place of 78-80 ones. The bed is pretty much identical from 75-80 so that should work for you as well. (75-76 had an extra tie down on each side and tailgate, but otherwise exactly the same)

The side marker lights on the 80 are different, but the hole is the same size and the older ones work. I prefer the 79 and older style myself, but to each their own.

Hopefully that motor isn't too rusted inside from 15 years of not being run. It probably had enough assembly lubrication to keep the rust down though.

Went back to the guys house today and spent about 20 minutes chargin batery and checking fluids and such. luckily he had drained all the gas b4 the final parking. So i put a couple galls in it. i pulled plugs and checked compresion everything checked out great. put plugs back in turned it over and poof nice tight sounding motor. didnt even smoke. He said his son used to come and let it run monthly for a bit until he passed away last year. So i think that is what saved the motor from rusting up. I think i might had gotton lucky on finding this one.

Do you all think 300 was a good deal? Does anyone know how may 4x4 where made in 80 roughly? and how many are still running?.

I cant remember if it had the winged windows but i believe it it would have had them i would remember. It come with a bedliner and a camper top on it. about the only thing i know for sure is junk is the tail gate lower portion is rusted pretty bad no holes yet but not far from it.

The interior is nice no rips in seat good carpet and door panels are suprisenly good shape. even the funky luv emblem on the fenders are in good shape. i am thinking that it has somekind of package on the interior but i dont know enuf about what all was offered yet to know what all it has the a regular one doesnt.

I will be selling the grill and and headlight holders from the 77 and the tranny the cab and alot of other things that i dont use on the 80. Basicly got the 77 for the body everything else will go.

Sounds like a good deal to me.
As far as the interior trim package, if it has a 3 spoke fake leather steering wheel and the fact that you mentioned carpet, it is probably is a Mikado.
