MY BABY! SHE'S DEAD(hits self in head w/ keyboard)lo,m,,,;p.;pp..

i was driving to work monday and my trans locked up at about 60-65 mph.
the luv is totaled.....kaput.

the slide dumped me out into a ditch and ripped a bunch of my undercarraige loose, broke both motor mounts and my trans mount and damaged my front end enough that i'm gonna have to scrap the truck.

beside the poor truck, i broke my nose and have two black eyes, spent mon. night in the hospital with a concussion(i've only got 2 more left) and have an imprint of my horn button in my cheek(bowtie tatoo).

i went and picked up a 2wd blazer today, but i can't quit moping.....i'm three grand in the hole in my luv and i can't belive it's dead......

i have to go tell my machinest that the heavy duty u-joint and his weld job on my driveline held up though.

she's sitting in my driveway.....every time i go out for a cigarette i can't keep from getting all misty.........gotta quit smoking.....

waaaaaaaa

on the other hand i have a whole bunch of upgrade parts for a 76+ luv for sale now.....weber w/cold air, header, elect ignition(taken), a nearly new radiator in perfect shape, a driveline for a 5spd upgrade.

i'll be working on getting my snow truck off the ground, so i'll be around here, but i've setteled on the 2.8 so i won't be needing any of my stock engine parts.....

Damn, that really sucks. Good to hear you are ok (at least for the most part, nothing but a flesh wound). I had the nearly the same thing happen to me years ago, luckily I was only going about 30 when it happened to me and no other damage but the tranny being shot. Good luck with the swap and keep us posted.

Chad

was that the luv that you were trying to sell, the one with the custom bumpers? i remember you tryin to sell a luv a bit ago and i was just wondering if it was the same one. i remember the pics and it was half yellow and half grey. sorry about the loss. i've had a few concusions in my time from capping 60 footers on my dirtbike. i understand you sig more then you could imagine. "what happened? who am i? where am i? im so confused! and my head hurts like a B***H!" lol, sorry for the language. you should post some pics of the carnage so we can see what is still usable.

i guess you also understand that i only have two concussions left, my doc told me if i keep this up i'll be stupid soon.

the first time i let my (not at the time) wife know i was in deep, i had just won a high speed colision with a stump on a snowboard and off my rocker. i'll tell ya brain buckets save lives. ever seen a helmet blow it's padding into individual pellets? could've been my skull.......

what do i do with this thing?.... i want it out of my driveway. the local wrecker won't take it unless it's complete and i'll be damned if i'm letting him just have all this equipment......

my landlord said it can sit long as i live here(he's way cool), but i don't want to look at it. it's almost like seeing your ex walking down the street with your buddy, you want her back , but it'll never be the same.

well if you feel like pulling bits off of it...I need a running light lens(red). Its gotta be awful to look at it but if it lives on in other luvs then at least its still sort of alive.Somebody might want that engine. You could cover it w/a tarp

Hey!! You could call Duane?!? Sorry Bad Joke. Bummer man, Sorry about the truck, The imprint/tattoo of a bawtie on your face.... cool. Thats gotta hurt.

This girl was telling me about her brother rear ending a jeep with his full size Chevy truck, hard enough that you could read PEEJ in the hood of his truck. Kind of the same thing.

the teardown is going well. i'll have the engine and trans out this coming weekend. i want to know WHY??????? we'll see iwhy she lockedup in the first place then.

i have this funny feelin that when i pull the engine off, the clutch shaft will spill it's bearings all over my carpet..........
