I was just wondering because i just bought a 4.3 liter V6 out of a 85 Monte-Carlo and it came with a Turbo 200 tranny and from my understanding the automatic LUVs also came with this same tranny. So I was thinking that the engine may just bolt up to the stock 4X :?: 4 tranny in my LUV. If anyone has any info or if you that this works please let me know. :?:

Thank You
John

Not the same tranny. Luv's are a th-200, and you have a 200r4 if its an overdrive trans, a 200 or 200c if its a 3 speed, but regardless the 4.3 isn't going to bolt onto a stock luv trans.

Thanks for the info
What would be a good tranny for the swap and keep the 4x4.

Got me. I'm not into 4x4's, maybe someone else will chime in with some ideas...

not to sure but when and if you find the right combo, you can deal with the drop of t-case buy indexing it up, aka clocking it.

No the 4x4 trans will not fit. I have an 80 luv 4x4 with a 4.3. I put a 700r4 overdrive and a 208 transfer cass. Its alot of work and you have to cut the cross-member and build a new drive shaft. My 4.3 is pushing 200HP and I cracked 2 U-joints.

If you could do a write up of this swap, I know there are a few people here (me being one of them) that would be very interested in everything that went into it.

I would have to set down and think about it. One problem is my truck is in Arkansas and I am in Germany. I have two years left to think about what I Still need to do to my Truck.
