I've never heard of needing to loosen the strut rods to adjust the torsion bars. Is this stated in an owners manual?

I'm sorry ..strut bars.my hanes manual says to loosen em before adjusting ride height.I always thought it seemed a little weird too. Just the double nuts up at the front of the truck

I've seen that in the Haynes book too. I'll have to check my factory manual and see what it says about ride height adjustment. It makes sense though, the strut bar is torqued to pull a certain amount on the lower control arm. Lowering or raising the truck will change the amount of pull on the strut bar. Retorquing them should help to keep things lined up and moving right.

Not that it will help the change in angle you get just from adjusting the torsion bars. It is sort of a dynamic alignment component, and adjusting the T-bars also throws off the static camber angle. It is always a good idea to get an alignment after raising or lowering a LUV. Lowering makes your wheels tip out at the top, raising makes them tip in at the top.
