I think I’m screwed, I was on the freeway when my Luv over heated and the truck stopped. I got it off the freeway and into a park and ride, let it cool down than filled the radiator with water and tried to start it again and got water poring out of the manifold exhaust joint. Bummer, anyway I got it towed home and now its just sitting there. What’s next any suggestions? I’m hopping for just a blown head gaskit. What does anybody else think?

I would pull the head and have it checked for cracks and warpage, and maybe even get the head shaved and the valves done.

Sounds like warped if not cracked head. Get the head off and you can usually see cracks. They like to show up around the exhaust valves right in the combustion chamber. Warpage is tougher to spot, but if you take a good steel ruler long enough to run the length of the head you should be able to see if it is really bad before you pay a shop to tell you. Lay the ruler on edge and look for spots where it doesn't touch the head either in the middle or the ends.

Thanks for all the info, I'm hoping to start the engine teardown tonight, so I hope to have an answer soon. As far as a V8 goes, I already have a gas guzling suburban and I really liked the gas millage I was getting with my Luv so I'm going to stick with the 1.8 engine at this time.
