i picked up a 83 s10 2wd with the ol 2.8.....it runs really well, and body is straight, and the interior is in good shape just a lil dirty... but i work at a detail company soo that is no biggie....

but here are the problems... if you go any faster than about 35-40 mph the damn thing gets to shaking real bad, and the fast you go the worse it gets....but it rides smooth until then... just checkin to see if maybe some of you may have an idea what the problem may be

i paid 350 for it, and i hope to fix it resell it for a lil profit,

thanks anthony

I would start with the driveshaft first, check the u-joints then check it to make sure it hasnt been damaged in anyway. Then maybe tranny monuts. I had an old 73 Chevy full size pick-up that did the same thing and come to find out it wasnt the right driveshaft for it at all. So I found the right one and it ran smooth as silk. Well thtas just my two pennies.
Later,
Husker

yep those two got it right on the head, I used to have a sierra that shook reall bad at 40-50 mph so we balanced the tires and got a new tranny mount and it rode real smooth...

I would check the drive shaft first. There should be no slack. Another thing to check along with the wheel alignment is the wheels to see if one is bent. Several ways to do this, number one is visual, second have somebody ride along beside you and see what's shakin, or put the front tires on the back. You could also have a tire that is out of round. Grab the front wheels and see if you can shake them then slide under and see if you can wiggle the Pitman arm, tierod ends ect. Sometimes on the older trucks, a good grease job will help if you have worn parts. It is not a fix, but will sometimes help till you can get to the parts store.
