Man!... After reading this post, i had flashbacks of my first big trip in my LUV. I traveled from No. Calif to Central Texas. My carb separated at the base plate and the alternator quit on me. What was worse was that i had to make the return trip. But i can only think that the problems weren't going to make me consider getting rid of my truck. Get a new truck? No. Get a Weber carb? Yes!
Think of it as a crash course in maintaining and troubleshooting a LUV. El Paso Tx can be a great place to be. I wish him the best.
