a buddy of mine brought a 79 Luv shortbed (stepside) and he raised a good question and i thought i would ask on here.

will a 79 Luv body work on a S10 truck or a S10 Blazer frame and what kind of mods and relocating of body mounts would he have to do?

and the reason why he asked me about it was so he wouldnt have to go through the trouble of have to clip the front, special order the V-8 kit and swap rears out. and he through if he took the 79 and just transfer it to a S10 Frame it would solve half the problems.

if you or your buddy can weld then it duzn matter where the mounts are.........like a project a freind of mine is in the middle of,he has a 84' chevy 4x4 frame with a 93' ex cab on it...he jsut made his own mounts where they needed to be,he has now cut 10 inches outa the bed so that it will mount bak on.....he has a 400 small blok with the fuel injection kit and a granny 4 speed with stok axles spin'in 35/12.5's and he can spin the **** outa em' it a bad truk for sure....so i would say it can be done no doubt if 1 or both of ya'll can weld

it has been done and with out a welder! im a broke-ass and cant afford that luxury. i just got done with the swap i used a 92 s10 blazer frame and the tbi 4.3 and tilt wheel it's not that much work. i did it in about 16 hours (my only two days off of work!) i cut out the wheel wells on mine but you can leave them if you want. taking them out leave more room to work on stuff and i also have air ride so in order to lay out they need to be gone. so if have any q's ask me i knoe what im talkin' bout!
