dont you just hate stupid people.....my luv was broken into the other day :x and they tried to steal my worthless cd player...which kind of makes me laugh cause they couldnt of sold it for more than 5 dollars i am sure....but the bad part was that my dash was in perfect condition and now where the ashtray was and that surrounding area is all torn away!! someone needs to tell these morons how hard it is to find a really good dash for a 72luv.....anyways i think that they may come back to finish it....any one from washington know if it is illegal to break someones leg with a 1 wood if they are trying to steal out of your car?? hahaha  i think myspeakers are worth more than the player :D and all you had to do was pick them up behind the seat and pull off the wire......you know if your gonna steal do it right......haahhahahhahah catcha later

you have the right to protect life, limb, and property. just say you think you saw a weapon. Open season.

An ex employee of mine in moroe, wa, called me and asked me what I was going to do with a bunch af material in my shop ( I was closing down to move, and was out of town). He broke in and stole over $7,000 worth of parts. Monroe cops are jerks, didnt do a thing. Should have left out a pack of jelly filleds.

If i ever see his face again- hes on my "I dont care, Ill go to jail for it" list. :2gunfire:

that suck you got ripped!

I feel for you. I had someone break into my 77 and actually steal the whole truck. They tried to pop the ignition with a screwdriver and ended up breaking one of the terminals off the back of the switch. (Just happened to be the one leading to the battery, heh) Then they found a shop manual under the seat and took their time figuring out how to hotwire it using the wiring diagram. Somewhere along the way they cut themselves and used a bandaid and antiseptic wipe from my first aid kit. They left a nice blood sample behind, and proof that the LUV didn't go willingly.

When they finally got the truck started, they had hard wired the coil resistor bypass relay so it started to overheat the coil. One of the plugs had some build up on it so it got pretty hot, cracked the insulator and the truck started misfiring. It looked like they got it about 5 blocks away and decided it might not last much longer. They parked it in a small gravel apartment lot but I spotted it through some trees driving by on the street.

The local cops actually dusted for prints and took the DNA sample along with them, but they haven't come up with anything. I figure one day the moron will do something more serious and get caught for it, and maybe I'll get something from him. It turned out all I lost was the ignition, the plastic it mounts into, and the ashtray. Tip, don't carry change in the ashtray and it won't be an attractive target. I ended up gaining one flashlight, a screwdriver, a nice lockblade pocketknife, and a set of keys to some Ford. I still haven't found the Ford...

When I first found it was stolen, I was hoping to find it wrapped around a power pole with a dead driver at the wheel. Given how much effort they had to put out to get it started and take it, they probably are lucky they didn't go any farther and have a tie rod break or something. The LUV was just too much for them and they realized it before it took them out. ;)

I have a couple things to keep somone from driving my rig off.

1- i have a neighbour that has a 5 car garage full of restored hot rods, and a guy around the corner has an award winning hot rod. I hope those would be stole first.

2- a power kill button tucked under the dash to interupt power to the digital 6.

3- If im really worried, i can turn a little selector screw on the side of the digital 6 AL and the firing order is totally whacked, like for a 6 cylinder or 4 cyl. the truck will never start unless the selector is in the perfect spot.

It's true about Texas. If someone rips your car off, you can chase them half way across the state and shoot his ass! It happens once in a while and they'll put it in the paper to try to deter kids from auto theft. They'll make a point to mention that the owner wasn't arrested. I love this state!

a digital 6 is an ignition control box that has a lot of features like nitrous retard, rev limiting, starting retard, and some others. you can add many things to it. Just look up ignition in jegs or summit and youll see it. If I remember correctly its MSD.

yea..it is really a sad thing to think that some people allways want something that dosent belong to them.I do like the gun laws in Texas, the cops here well tell you SHOOT TO KILL if you ever shoot at anyone, otherwise it is agravated asult.I would guess like the old saying goes "if your going to do something , Do it right the first time!

man, too bad it wasnt that way in other places. crime would either go down, or the theives would start to carry guns and shoot first. only thing recently i got stole was all the change out of my ashtray, like $8.00. it was my work van, and i left the door unlocked. there was other stuff they could have taken......but didnt. Kids i think. Punks.

I keep a piece inside.
