There is a guy I work with that has a 1994 GMC 1/2 ton 4x4, that is wanting to do some mods to. Basically, wants to try and get a little more ponies out of it. Like add headers, go to a R.V cam, and so forth. I had suggested gettin rid of the throttlebody injection, and going with a carb set up, but talkin to another guy, he says with all the comp. stuff, it would be a big pain. So if anybody has any suggestions or knows of a site, or has done something similar let me know. THANKS T.

so hes gonna carb it? well i think you can do that. he'll have to get a carb intake that will bolt up to the newer style heads and maybe swap the distributor for a vacuum advance one. im sure he'll need the smog stuff. i dont if going to a carb from injection would pass smog inspection. you might think about getting a better tbi intake and a bigger throttle body.

well I had suggested going to a carb, but I think he is gonna stay w/ the tbi. He doesnt have to worry about smog, where he lives it is not required. So we talked about adding a cam, and headers, but what else could he do, without breaking the bank?

there is a company in Tenn. called Motorvation that will custom burn him a computer chip if he sends them the specs of the upgrades he is going to do. This will help everything else work with the new HI Perfromance stuff he plans to add.

you can put the TBI unit from a 454 on that truck if you take the intake off and bore it out for the larger 2" TBI venturis. I believe Holley makes an aftermarket TBI also.

I have an 89 chevy and I just picked up a used whipple super charger for it. if you ever seen one, all you do is remove the TBI and bolt the blower to the stock TBI intake and then bolt the TBI to the back of the whipple. hook up an oil line and put and put a longer serpentine belt on. Whipple claims a 50% hp gain but they are $$$$ if you get one brand new
