Ok everyone, myself and my son are the proud new owners of a 76 short bed 2wd! Sure as shit it's the same barf ass orange my 75 was before I painted it, too funny. Anyway soon as I make time I will post some pics of it, it's been sitting for some time, but for $250 I can afford a little cleanup time. It's a bone stock runner, just title issues the previous owner cleaned up, and it needs a battery and some work (overheats, a gash in the bed, steering wheel is gone, other minor crap) but no rust, no rot, very solid, and we're dragging it home tomorrow, just had to leak the news, it's kinda cool. Im up to my eyeballs with my other project so it may sit a month or two before I can get busy doing something to it. By the way I already have a spare 350 block and some 4340 parts and pieces on the floor for my Nova, and my eye on a way cheap 454 big block runner out of a late truck, who knows what may happen to this poor truck lol. Any ideas ??? How much spray will the stock 1.8 take before it granades??

It would be really cool if you video tape the NOS shot. A stock motor would make a billion little pieces.
It's great that you're building another LUV. The cool thing is that you know what to avoid and what can be made better. Post pics along the way please!

I'll tell ya, seeing that same funky orange color, with that goofy little 4-banger just aint right! My son and I spent the better half of sunday afternoon washing all the "cooties" off it. Im not too sure just yet what we're going to do with it, but I sure dont plan to let it just sit and waste away like the previous owner, hell we at least have to blow up that 4 banger!! I just love new projects!
