is ther any way to 'hop up' a luv engine ?.............can i put a body lift on a 80' 4x4 luv and run 31/10.5's ?how duz a luv do in the mud ?
Well, I bought 2 carbs for the LUV from a guy that has a 4x4 79' LUV, he said that when the log carrying trucks in at a timber cutting site used to get stuck in the mud that they used his truck to tow them out and suprisingly it didn't take much time to get them unstuck.
As for hoping up the LUV motor, I suggest going with a header and a glass-pack muffler, changeing the air filter to a K&N and then putting a larger sized cam in for a little more bottom end torque. Now if your really wanting more power you can get larger pistons for it if you bore out the cylinders a bit for more horse power, and you could get your ports polished and maybe you could make your own weird cold-air-intake for the truck too.
I do know that you can get body lifts for the LUV, it's just i don't know the max tire heigth you can put under them.
