i just got a 1981 chevy luv.i drove the truck home was running for about 30 min and just quit,it is not getting gas i unhooked the gas line from fuel pump and cranked over no gas,if i pour gas in carb it starts,is there a relay and where is it also does anyone know where the fuse panel is all i see is 3 or 4 under hood area email me at d.h.fish@att.net thanks alot guys...

theres metal cover on the pass. side w/relays under it I think you found the fuse panel.It seems like every luv has or gets a bad fuel pump relay,do a search you'll find the relevant wiring tips(when I did mine I f***** it up a little ...go slowly and have good lighting good luck ,welcome!

I've got an '81 and the fuse / relay block is under the hood near the cab on the drivers side. There will be two relays, one for the heater blower motor, and one for the fuel pump. I THINK the relay for the fuel pump is the one closest to the cab. You can swap the two of them to check if it's a relay problem.

One other thing... fuel filter's not clogged is it? New filters are my friend since the truck's been sitting for years with gunk in the tank. :lol:

thanks for the relay info,that was the problem,both where bad whats the chances but they where.and yes i changed all filters again thanks alot.army62
