Ok here is the deal, the body shop that i took my bed to still is not finished they keep saying not enough help, to busy ,etc. Well i'm a freaking paying customer and i have gave them plenty of time. They told me when I dropped it off in june of last year that it would only take 2 weeks, almost a year later still not done. So they finished filling the gas filler and welded and smoothed the tailgate and other seams bck there.

I've thought about going and picking the bed up and finishing it myself.
What would you do? And is it hard to apply primer?

There is no reason that they shouldn't have been able to complete the bed by now.

I've talked to them several times about my bed and they always have excuses why it isn't done. Example: I went in there january of this year and cussed them out and said i wasnted my money and bed, then they said we will finish in 2 weeks, I said i'll give you 2 months, well its almost 4 months later and still excuse after excuse. In this year I've seen cars go in and out of there, and they tried calling my bed fill in work, well if it was fillin then why was I paying them. What a joke

I was reading in the magizine Truck Builder and it said that sometimes if you take your vehicle to a body shop instead of a restoration shop that they will work on wrecked vehicles first and then go to the others. The truck that was in the magazine had been at the body shop for 15 years 8O

They told me it was a restoration shop. This one person that has their camaro there said they have had it over 3 years. Wish I talked to him before i took it there. Oh well live and learn. I even put 500.00 down when i dropped it off. I'll never see that.

you know what you can do. report them to the BBB(better business bureau) that is ridiculous. if it wasn't so expensive to go to court I would sue the sucker. That is crazy 8O .

good luck

that's bullshit if they didn't do your money's worth i would take them to small claims court. even if they did i'd still take them because they didn't do it in a timely manner. hell you could've had it finished yourself in that time.  :2gunfire: :microwave: :smt075 :smt064

They did alittle work like welding the tailgate and filliing the gas filler.
But they told me 2 weeks to get it done in june of last year and kept of with excuses, And he was saving it for some high school kid to learn on.
I think I might sue him for mental damages :D ,cause I don't know if I could ever bring anything to another body shop just to store stuff for a year.

Got an e-mail back from the BBB saying that my claim has been filed and that the body shop has till the 25th to respond, and if they don't further actions will be taken.

So if anyone is thinking about having a body shop do their truck I have experience from the inside. I worked in 2 shops for a total of about 5 years. Someone already mentioned that they will do wrecks first and that is 100% true. Shops make a killing off insurance work. Ive seen stuff sitting around and pissing the customer off a few times. The last guy I worked for would quote people astrinomical amounts just so they wouldnt have him do it. Its almost worth actualy working in a shop to gain the ability to do it yourself.
