Hi there.

First time poster. Good to meet all of you.

I had a '79 LUV diesel, that was a great little truck. My step-brother wrecked it for me though, so it was lost.
But, here is my question...


I did a google for "Chevrolet LUV", and was blown away!

The truck is still available new, only in Mexico. Now there is even a crew cab version available, and it looks awesome! Also, the have a "Tornado" that looks great also....

So, why are they available only there?

How do we buy one there, then register it here?

Can we in the United States not get them?????

They are not just avalible in Mexico they are also avalible in many other South American states. You will not be able to go to a Chevy dealer and request them to order you a LUV. So to be safe I would say that you would not be able to get a LUV in the USA. There was a post about this topic a while back that had a lot of usefull information, If you do a search than you should be able to find it.

Do you remeber wht the thread was titled by any chance?

Seems like its not here for exhaust/emission reasons, but even w/ adding exhaust/ or mabey even new motor---seems like then it would be legal.... I dont know, but someone has to have made it work and got one here...

I looked for it but I had no luck. Maybe somebody else will be able to find it.
