For a Hitachi or Weber. The Hitashit isn't worth pouring a bunch of money into. The grief just returns. Most everyone here will advise buying a Weber.

DGV is manual choke DGAV is hot air choke and DGEV is electric choke. The one to look for is the 32/36 DGEV. Thats what most people run and its a been a great carb to me.

The kit # is Weber K662 for the 32/36, or K662-38 for the 38/38. Either will work, but good luck finding a 32/36 kit new, I was looking last week and every place I contacted didn't have them and wouldn't for an unknown amount of time. Apparently due to the popularity of that kit and the fact there was or currently is a strike going on at Weber, that and something about them moving their facilities, there is a mass shortage.

Anyway the bottom line is you are probably only going to find a used one somewhere (32/36), then have to find the adapter and other misc parts, along with a rebuild kit. There are plenty of the 38 kits available, they are a little more expensive, but will work equally as well, at least based on the information I have been able to find.

I tried to rebuild my stock Hitachi, with miserable results, then ended up buying a rebuilt one off of ebay. That one ran great for about a month and now has taken a dump, which is why my quest began for the Weber.

Another option is to buy a reman Hitachi, but based on the pricing I found for those, you are looking at half the cost of the Weber and will still have the same POS you just got rid of. But if you are interested I can post up the links I found for those.

Good luck and I hope you find what you need.

Chad

The difference between the DGAV that you have and the DGEV is only the choke. It's always warm in North Carolina, so who cares about the choke, right?

The adapter plate is $21.50 new from Weber, P/N 100.099
