Any one know how old a truck has to be before it becomes emisions exempt in washington state?

Not sure about Washington but Colorado is (was last I knew) 25 years. I think most states should be about the same. That also means mine is now exempt this year :lol: !!!!!! Woo Hoo maybe I can get mine back from my dad's house in Wyoming now!!! (That was half of the reason I have it there!!) Thanks for reminding me, I guess your best bet would be to call the Washington Dept of Emissions on Monday.

Oregon does not require inspection in all areas, but in the Portland area is is 1975 and newer. In the other area, Rogue Valley it is 20 years old and newer. More info on those areas here: http://www.deq.state.or.us/aq/vip/

For Washington, it looks like anything at least 5 years old back to 25 years old is required to test. (So 1979 to 1998) More info here: http://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/air/cars/automotive_pages.htm Look at the FAQ at that link for details on when you need to test because they have a strange schedule depending on odd or even years.

colorado is no emissions before 70'.anything newer than 90' only needs emissions every 2 years
