ok ive looked at wiring diagrams and am still lost as all hell so maybe someone can help me out i have an aftermarket stereo with a...

black - ground
red - the accessories wire
yellow - 12 volt +
and a grip of speaker wires

my car only has a 5 prong plug and an antenna plug does anyone know which wires go to which

i have a feeling that my ground from my stereo can be hooked up to the wire coming out of the ash tray holder and thats as far as ive gotten

please help i know you an do it

if you have a test light or can get a hold of one, the job is really quite simple.
with the test light make sure the ingnition is off, and test each wire to find out which wire has power, turn the ignition to acc and see which wire now has power, the ground wire i would imagine you could connect to and earthing point on the car. as for the speaker wires, hook them up to the corosponding speaker (left or right)

thanks man but i still have very little luck with this ive blown 2 fuses so far here lemme see if i can get this right my ground is always connected to the frame and all the metal and stuff right and then i get a test light and hook one end up to ground and then one at a time connect each one of the five other wires and then if a light comes on i have power

yup, then do the same with acc on

are you working on a luv, or different kind of car?

if you are working on a newer car, go to walmart, or best buy and get a wiring harness, so you can wire up the radio, then plug into your OEM plug.
