hell of an intro! Welcome to the site and good luck on the project.

Probably the only place you will find new floor is here

Thanks I'll keep that place in mind. But there are no prices listed.
I'll look into it sometime in the next couple weeks when I have the cash to spare.

so are you the one that has this truck posted on StreetSource or is that the previous owner? scary to find the hackjobs that some people do.

I posted some of the pics in the hackjob topic. I never read the forum, just check the club listings and member prifiles sometimes. A friend told me ot go post pics. I have not been back to check on the topic, I'll go do that right now. Thanks for the reminder.

I know it is in really good condition and woule be a much better idea to just work on this one, but I want to be stupid and redo the nasty one. Hopefully the owner will call me or I will cath him outside sometime really soon so I know what is going on with it. I'm trying not to work on some stuff that will be replaced if I get this truck.

I bought it from my buddy that took those pics. He bought it expecting it to be a quick and cheap turn around. He ended up dumping around $3500 in it and gave up. So he pulled the motor/ trans and I traded him. I did not know he had a profile on SSM. I thought I was the only luv listed. I did a search and found only mine.

The guy that did all of the "work" on it closed his shop and does work out of his house, and works at a pretty well know shop that has a reputation of doing horrible work. Supposedly he is doing decent work now, but I do not know the guy I got the info from.

Talk about your bubble gum and bailing wire, that beats anything I've ever seen. That joker wins the prize for the crappiest excuse for work on the planet. I would like to learn how to slam my truck, and I'll send you a P.M.

I worked on it yesterday...
more done to the floor and back wall
more to the door jam on the drivers side
More done around the vin number on the firewall
went over some of the drivers side.
There was no point to take pics of what I got done because it was spread out. I'll take pics when I get the rest of the floor and back wall done, then some of the doors when they are bare, and some of the firewall.

Went to town with the wire wheel on the drivers side tonight. I got alot of it smooth and got the rest of the pits clean that were filled with body filler...

Most of the floor and back wall is done. There are a few parts that I cannot get to with the wire wheel, so I'm going to have to sand them...

Worked on the cowl and the top of the firewall, I got alot of it done. I'm going to have to move a few things to finish it and move down the firewall further...

They had a few thin pieces tacked together for a filler. I'm going to cut all of it out and with redo them with full fillers, or put factory tails back in them and take the led's out.

Finally an update. I figured it was time to clean the garage really good and get alot of the stuff sitting around moved out into my near empty storage. I moved the truck over and cleaned up, moved alot of stuff out, then spun it around so it was facing the other way on the same side so I can start on the passenger side. I took alot of close ups of the suspension and alot of sots under the truck in places I cannot see very well just to see what kind of shape everything is in. I did not find anything I did not know about already, so that is good.

After I moved the truck to the other side of the garage showing the huge pile of crap left underneath, and the parts lining the wall and in a big pile in the back of the garage...
Image
Passenger filler plate. It was tacked in a little closer to the surface, but was too far in and not cut as close as I'd like it to be. It will be easier to cut out...
Image
Showing that the body work was done really well. It hid alot, which is shown in the third pic...
Image
Image
Image
Showing off some of the 4 link with upside down mounted shocks...
Image
Showing that the firewall was not welded at all. It is held together with pop rivets and silicone...
Image
The hood. It is the factory steel hood with part of a fiberglass cowl matted to it...
Image
Turned around in the garage ready to be finished. I hate night pics with this camera...

reverse 4 link. did the guy get that right? or is it screwed up just as bad as the other stuff on the truck? those links look a wee bit to flimsy for a v8 too.

I don't like the 4 link at all. I will be cutting it all out and starting fresh. I may use what is there to get me around until I get new wheels and need the extra clearance. I do not plan on driving on it though.

Here's what you call using a wire wheel It was a 6 inch...
Image
Big chunk I pulled off the corner...

Image
Layers upon layers gone. It's too bad they put the crooked license box in it. I could have kept the "chevrolet" on the gate. The passenger side light filler was done the exact same way. And the led's looked soo bad I broke them out. I'll do something different with the lights...
Image
Image
Showing the plate box filler...
Image
Showing the welds holding the factory rollpan. The factory hinges on the bottom of the gate that were ground down. And the few tack welds that were holding the gate to the rollpan...
Image
Another crappy night pic. I'm going to try to keep the garage and truck a bit cleaner from now on, so I cleaned out the area between the truck and the wall so I can sweep it out along with the other side of the garage...
Image
I also put it on jackstands a bit higher this time so it is easier to get the rockers down when I get to them, and not have a huge pile of crap on the floor under the truck.
