Just two things:

first, does anyone know where I can get high temperature spray paint for my engine in unique colors, or even better, custom colors, for example, HOT PINK? :p Everyone else has boring colors like black or orange. ew.

and second, I'm on a mission to sell the old luv to fund stuff for my new one, so check out the classifieds section where I made a post.

Jess

ps we got the pink letters put on my tailgate. They're actually the fleetside letters, not the stepside ones like I thought, but it still looks rad. Sometime we'll get the stepside ones, 'cause they're all bubbly and cute! This is the color I want to paint my engine.

jess,
i read an article a few days ago about how these folks get the custom color on thier street rod engines. it said that most modern urethane paints hold up good to the temps and they just use custom mixed standard paint. i suppose you could check with house of color or another maker about the temp range of thier paint.

good luck on selling the tilt front luv. if i was closer i'd be very interested

you might want to look into powder coating.... i had the header on my buell powered blue and it looks hot and it's perty durable......i've put 5000 miles on the bike since i had it done and it still hasn't discolored yet, it doesn't stain either.

my engine is already assembled, though, so I don't think I could powder coat it. My boyfriend is just going to paint it with epoxy primer, then base coat enamel, and then high temp. clear coat. hopefully that will do the job!

thanks for the idea though! you should post a pic of yours I want to see it blue!!!

I have paint like 10 different motors without high temp paint and never had any problems with chipping or discoloring...
