I just scored a weber 28/36 carb. I had never heard of one before. Anyone ever used these? I know that people put 32/36's on Luvs, but I don't know how a 28/36 would run.

i've heard of them before.....the 28 should be a little more snappy off idle but the sacrifice is needing to use the second barrel a little sooner during hard acceleration. however you probably won't have the cold start problems that i have. i can't seem to set my choke properly, i have to pump the crap out of the accelerator before it will run in the morning

technichly speaking the 32/36 is a little bit too big for the luv's 1.8 which results in a slight hesitation when you goose the throttle. so having a smaller primary bore is a good thing.

before i got my 32/36 i was considering the 30/32 which is the same bore as the stock hitachi (correct me if i'm wrong).

i'd really appreciate an update on how well your carb runs when you get it installed.

Thanks.

I thought I was getting an adapter with it, but I didn't. So now I've got to find an adapter. Anyone have one they want to sell me? I assume a 32/36 adapter would work.

On a similar note, I have an intake that I've had for many years. I don't know where I got it, maybe off an Impulse. I thought it was stock, but I measured the primary and secondary holes. they are 32 mm and 35 mm respectively. Is that normal or do I have something unusual?
