i have a question, How many bolts are there that connect the ball joint to the a-arm? I'd look at my own truck but it's in the shop right now. I'd like to know because i'm going to be buying some ball joint spacers from Independent 4x, the thing is they offer two types, one for 3 bolt setups, and one for 4 bolt setups.

Also what is the size of the stock torsen bars? i need o know so that i can get the right ones to lift my truck.

This is all I could find in terms of torsen bars for Luv's:

Isuzu 2WD 1972-80 26mm 38.125" #1526

these are made by Sway-A-Way, are these the ones i need? or will I have to use some made for the '81-83 Luv and Isuzu 4x4? (which are 36.5" and 26mm)

I'm asking because they don't have any listed for '79-80 4x4 Luv's, any help from you guys would be great

One huge bolt/nut on top, and 4 bolts on the bottom on a 79 4x4.

Indy4x ball joint spacers are made to fit Isuzus made later than LUVs. They go under the top ball joint and LUVs all have that funky Single big nut deal so niether the 3 bolt or the 4 bolt ones work.

In point of fact though, seems like spacing the lower ball joint up would get some of the effect of doing the same on the top. You would get more travel because the lower and upper control arms would be farther apart. It would drop the lower control arm down some tho, potentially making it easier to snag on stuff. I'll have to think this one over, lots of math to guesstimate on to figure it all out. I can say this, you won't get the same effect on the alignment doing the bottom ball joint as you would on the top. I believe it will cause the effect of cranking the torsions (tires go like this: /==\ ) to be even worse. The idea of the top ball joint flip and spacer is to help bring the tires back closer to straight.

Thanks for that, I had a looky at how things are positioned and am having second thoughts on it, though i will most likely still be getting the bj spacers and doing a bj flip on my Trooper, in addition to cranking the t-bars
