Um, I believe Luv's come with bed rails, at least mine did, if yours doen't have them then maybe the previous owner shaved them.
Nice looking Luv you got there Luvmann, is it a 2wd or a 4wd? I like the roll bar too, wish i could find one for my Luv.

it's a 4wd

im not sure that they came stock with bed rails. my dad had one back in 80 same year only longbed and no bed rails. He bought his new.

So i don't believe they came stock. The roll bar i have is rustin through. The previous owner was an idiot. he wired the lights on the outside of the show bar. he did not seal the joints in the bars so water got in and well..
So if you find someone who makes show bars give me a shout.

Interesting, I have an '80, only a short bed, that my grandfather bought new, and it has had bed rails since he bought it. So the roll bar you have is a custom job eh, i'll be looking, if i find one i'll give ya a shout

i wonder if it was a dealership add on?

ya the rollbar looks like it came in 3 pieces and you had to of course put it together and stick this screw in. but the idiot that owned the LUV before my did not seal the joints so it is rusted.

So what plans do you have for your Luv? lift? bigger tires, bigger engine?

I think there is a touch of confusion going on it this thread. I believe the bed rails being asked about are ones that mount on top of upper lip of the stock bed. Am I right on this?

Well, i would like to lift it using the torsion bar but i don't understand that too much. Bigger tires..definitely mine are as big as they can go (they already rub  ) but i'm not positive if i want a bigger engine. maybe a v6 but thats a LONG way down the road. at this point i'm REALLY in need of A/C. so i'm lookin for that

and those bed rails we are talkin about whats on mine right? if so I have been unable to find someone who lists the factory option but im researchin cuz im rather interested.

yup we are talking about the one's on your truck. as to the torsen bar stuff, i'v been told by several mambers here that you can crank 'em up a notch or two with out side effects, which would give you about a 1 1/2"-2" lift over stock up front, for the rear you can either go with longer shackles, which you can get from http://www.pureisuzu.com or http://www.independent4x.com, or add-a-leafs. By the way what size tires you running?

As to the a/c, i think your best bet would be to find one in the junkyard that came from the factory with a/c, and then just strip all of the vent system parts off it.

on the A/C thats basically what im lookin for but i fond a business called Vintage Air that can put an after market A/C on for 1300.oo so im lookin for something cheeper but who knows maybe ill go for it.

im not sure of the exact tire size ill check and get back with you.

are there any ill side effects to useing the torsion bar to lift it?

I'm with Bob. And I'm going to go really far out on a limb and say the chrome tube rails on the lip of the bed were not a factory option. In fact I think that is the 1st luv I've seen with them.

Ummmmm..... i think i'm blind, very very very blind. I took a much closer look at that picture and i now see what you guys are talking about, i thought you where speaking of the lip of the bed, and not accutual "bed rails" such as those put on other trucks for style. my bad i was not being very observant, but then again i never am. I hope you all can forgive me on that
