The front drum brakes are self-adjusting. If you have problems with the braking action, i would suggest you bleed the brakes. If there's old fluid in the system, it has a negative effect on the adjustment. Air in the lines will allow the springs to pull the shoes away from the drums. With clean fluid, the wheel cylinders will allow the adjuster mechanizms to hold a more accurate adjustment.

there is new fluid in the lines, its all blead correctly, the pedal goes to the floor, if i clamp the front lines, the pedal is fine so i know its something with the front.

I had the same problem with mine for the longest time. I went thru the brakes a number of times to fix the problem. I located new adjusters, replaced the shoes, Filed a new point to the adjuster springs and it still didn't work right and the pedal would go to the floor when i applied the brakes. The truck sat for years recently and i resurrected it. I bleed the brakes repeatedly to flush the system. After about 3 qts of fluid, the pedal was solid and the brakes worked correctly.

Bleed the system again and again if needed. A couple of qts of fluid is a lot cheaper than replacing a master cylinder and 4 front wheel cylinders.

probably better off just converting over to discs. I just changed my 75 over to disc and couldnt believe the difference didnt cost much either and now I dont have to worry about killing someone because the old drums didnt work worth crap

the problem with noyz swapping the brakes to disc is his location.. not a lot of parts availability in Oz...

i had this problem on a fiat i had and i had to yank the whole brake setup and re-install it then bled the brakes a ton.. adjusted the brakes up manually until they were hard to rotate by hand then let the system self adjust...
