Does anyone on this site have a 78 chevy nova with the inline 6 cylinder 250 engine and has upgraded the camshaft and still passed smog. I wanted to get a higher lift cam, but clevite said it wouldnt pass smog with a higher lift. But I wanted to see if I could before I buy a stock cam and lifters . Any suggestions would be really helpful. Thanks Shane

Yea but in Ca. you have to pass a smog check every 2 years in order to get your registration sticker.

do a search on the web i`m sure someone out there makes a cam for that motor. that will pass the sniffer. look for something with a similar lobe sepparation. and don`t go to aggessive on the durration. paw performance might have something for you. i know i`ve seen a sight before. but will have to do some thinking on it.

I have already bought the stock cam and lifter kit  . At least the engine will be like brand new with the 800.00 worth of stuff I bought for it. After I get done I will probably post some pics, I just wish I would have taken some before pics, it looks good so far :D

Does anyone know about putting springs on a head I found out that the spring installed height should be 1 23/32" but what if it is about 3/32 off does that mean I should install spring spacers or will they be fine. Help
