my most dependable employee didn't show up for work this morning.....

i got a call from amador county jail at noon....my buddie was aressted for evading an officer this morning......on a murray go-cart....

i read the citation after i picked him up....evading an officer, drivers license not in possesion, no regestration, no insurance, no seatbelt, improper lighting, and reckless driving. on top of impounding the go-cart.

here's the story....at about 6 this morning my homie was awake and had nothing to do before work, he fired up the go-cart he had just fixed for his kids and was doing doughnuts, driving down to the bottom of his driveway spinnin out and driving back up.

here comes the C.H.P. honks his horn at my buddy and hits his lights.... my buddy drives up his driveway parks it and starts to walk down to the cop and the cop pulls his gun out and tells dude to eat dirt. This cop says that my buddy was within the road easement and therefore he was on the road and subject to motor vehicle laws. driving away was evading.

we called the tow yard and they were having an issue being able to release the go-cart due to only being able to release it to the registered owner. so we call chp and they laugh there asses off and tell uys that it needs no release and that it absoloutly should not have been impounded they'll call the tow yard for us and get the go-cart released for no charge

the only issue is my buddie having to go to court and answer on the above charges....

only in california..... :smt067

that sounds just like the CHP nazi bastards. Down in our neck of the woods they are just the same, except the farm equipment apparently has the right of way on any road and motor vehicle laws don't fricking apply to them. I would hope your homie can get the BS charges dropped. It sounds like it shouldn't be too hard to get done

Ahhh yes, sounds too familiar. Situations like this is why I've come to hate cops.

he already has the cart back....got the charges dropped too.....this turned out to be a case of Dumb Cop...... no doughnutwe got down to the office in placerville and the officer did all this under an El dorado Hills city regulation requiring golf carts to be registered, insured, and driven by a licensed driver.

El dorado hills is a town about 45 minutes away that's full of rich people and has a golf course(so they have laws like that) this guy responded to a call by a neighbor about someone running a chain saw at 6:30 am..... and pulled the city cop trip forgetting that he wasn't in his own neighborhood.

the on duty sergeant also requested that he filled out a formal complaint so the guy doesn't make the same mistake again..

Reminds me of the time my friends motorhome was towed from our high school parking lot at 9 o clock at night. We were there hanging out with some other people and two bicycle cops rolled up and started harassing us. Next thing we know, the cops claim that my friends motorhome isn't registered (even though it had tags and a valid registration) and they tow it to impound.

Come to find out the next day, the cop failed to tell dispatch that it was a commercial vehicle when they called it in, so dispatch couldn't find the registration. Needless to say, they let him have his motorhome back at no charge.

Why do the cops have to ruin everybodys fun? He wasn't hurting anybody and the cop pulled a gun on him! What the hell! They all think that they can do whatever they want because of that damn thing. :x
