First one I drove was my 1980 Mikado with 283/th350. Didn't drive a stock one until 14 years later!

Aight, reckon I'm the ol fart here after all...LOL
First one I ever drove was a 1978 white 4x4 when i worked for Idaho State Parks Dept. I drove it right off the showroom floor.
An hour later I had it in mud up to my elbows doing donuts while chasing sheep around a pasture at a lil park there near Boise called Eagle Island.Drove that truck like I stole it and could not tear it up for anything :!:

It was not until 10 years later that i had a LUV I could call my own.Believed in those trucks then and still do.They are ALL I still have to drive here at present time but, all I need. :D 8)

MY first LUV...well was a Pup. I had just totalled out a 1969 GTO that I LOVED for the 10 months and about 27,000 miles I put on it. I needed something to get around in and a buddy's dad had the 81 Pup, diesel, auto for sale. $275 got me around for 3 years.

I'm hooked.

You can put a different transfer case in them, and probably a different frontend to match the rear if you changed it, and make it work.

on the subject of tearing the truck up. my first luv was purchased in 2003. a 1980 chevy luv 4x4 mickado that needed alot of LUV. soon after rebuilding the engine i got my drivers license :D . and the truck hasn't been the same since. it was sunk, hit by a dodge. in mud up to the doors but still runs great :D . but i may be sellin it :( i need something with A/c i live right neer heck ( arizona). the truck is black with vynle seats. makes for some seriously squeeky cheeks when it is 125 degrees out side (in the shade lol).

Way back in 19 and 77, my buddy got a Luv truck from his dad (his dad bought a new 77 and handed down the 72 to Jerry). We would take the truck out on to Ft. Hood and trash it to no end. We would carry 5 gal. water cans to feed the radiator. Getting it unstuck was a hell of alot easier than a full sized truck. Eventually the motor got so trashed that around town we would have to avoid hills because it would'nt make it over the top. Once the motor signed off for good, the truck was pushed into auto mechanics class at the high school and a Pontiac 400 motor was fitted to the truck. It was running great for years untill it was stolen.

4 years later, i bought my Blue truck and pretty much did the same thing.......
