It happened I got cought in the rain last night. With no wipers and just rain-x. I got home but I have decided it is time to take the RatnLuv apart and do some finish work.

I need to pull the cab so I can finish the firewall and install the new trans. crossmember. I have put around 1,000 miles on it and the only thing I am thinking of changing is the fuel cell location. I had put it up by the cab because it fits best, but I am thinking of moving it to the very rear for traction. With the four link and 29x15.50 Mickey Thompsons it is still spins too much from a dead stop. I also feel that on the street the nitrous would be a waste and just cause more traction problems. It would probably be OK at the strip.

I hate to take it back apart because I am enjoying driving it but I need to get the firewall finished and a dash built so it will look more complete.I feel that it is on the downhill with most of the hard work done.

All of the wiring is just temporary and I am going to put as much as possible behind the seat for several reasons.#1 closer to the battery wich is behind the cab under bed on the passenger side.#2 limited dash space.#3 easier to get to just fold seat forward and you can get to everything.Fuse Box, Relays,MSD box, etc. #4 more room to space it out and make it look neater and easier to hide at the same time.

The dash I am still unsure about but have several ideas floating around in my empty head.

hey ratnluv,

Im with you on a few things. my battery is in a little hole under the bed just behind the passenger seat. Good.

consider this, unbolting your bed and putting a few hinges on it at the back. makes tire removal easier. tilt the bed. easy.

My tank is all the way back and I hate it. Im not running the big block torque like you are though. i dont have a traction problem as of yet. After a roll bar install I plan to put the tank just behind the cab, above the bedline. Tank is never full so i dont think my traction will change much.

Glad you can still run your truck this time of year. Its winter here.

I promise ill post some pics in about two weeks, after the foot heals enough to roll the rig out. id like to see some current pics of the big block luv. Interior/firewall/rear suspension.....

later

My bed is not bolted on and I had given some thought to a tilt bed and not ruled it out yet. I have also been thinking of tilt front end or pin on one piece. I saw a article about 15 years ago and the used the factory sheet metal and welded it up to make a tilt front end.
I currently have the bed held on by hood pins (2 at the front and 2 at the rear)along with a 6 wire trailer connecter the bed is off in a matter of minutes. This allows great access to the 4 link adjustment. Once I get it all adjusted I can bolt it on but it works great for now.
And by the way I was putting all my instruction in a notebook and noticed my Dumb butt  went the WRONG way  with my 4 link adjustment last time so before I tear it apart I am going to adjust it some more and see if I can get it to hook up. If I can get it to hook I can leave the fuel cell where it is. :)
