Got my all my wisdom teeth pulled yesterday..

The top two were easy to pull, but the bottom two were almost completely sideways and they had to be split into three peices and extracted threw little incisions.

They knocked me out with IV sedation. It was great, like I was on some good drugs! I don't remember a thing. Hell I don't even remember leaving the dentists office!

Felt ok after the freezing all came out, they gave me some ibuprofen, some other pain killers and some anitbiotics, that pretty much took all the pain away. I bled like crazy till this morning. I used a lot of gauze to stop the bleeding. Its pretty much done now though I think. Woke up in the middle of the night with my mouth full of blood though! YUCK!

Started to swell up today pretty good, my cheeks are just huge, looks like I am fat now...

They stiched up all four corners of my mouth too. They are dissolvable so I don't have to get them out. Which is a good thing, I don't want to have to go back to that dentist again...

Thats my experience, anybody else have their wisdom teeth pulled out that were worse? Or just teeth pulled in general? Definetly not something I want to have done regularily...

had my bottom ones taken out in Ft Dix i swear that stupid ass Captian (army doc) had his knee in my chest and a pair of vice grips in my damn mouth ....didnt knock me out but i made them load me up on novacain...(doc give me the shot.."can you feel that?".."yep"...another shot..."feel that?"..."yep"...ect. ect.. )

got them out THEN i had to walk about 2 blocks back to the SRP and get the paperwork signed for dental....try tellin a little Pvt that you need your medical records w/ a mouthful of guaze and blood good thing i carry a notepad and pen.

they gave me 800mg motran and quarters for a day...the day after my quarters i was out freezing my ass off "learning" how to lowcrawl.



speakin of which i gotta go get this damn filling looked at soon ..i HATE dentists.

Got mine pulled in Ft. Ord. Man I was jacked up! I rememer (sort of) becoming somewhat aware and thinking "Man my mouth is dry" After several hard swallows I went back to sleep. When I woke up for good, I asked my girlfriend " Did I have gauze in my mouth?" LOL
About a week later I kept feeling something poking my cheek. reached into my mouth and pulled out a chunk of my jaw that had finally worked its way to the surface.... Never went to an army dentist again!

Well Smokin, had almost the same experience as you. Didnt get put out and only had 2 of them done. First one took a half hour to get out as all of mine are laying forward. I think the nurse was new as the doctor started yelling at her in the middle of taking the bottom one out and finally made another nurse come in to help. That made me feel more comfortable. He had to bust it up to get it out and then after the bottom one finally came out in 3 pieces, the top on took all of ten seconds!! So they stitched me up and gave me a prescription for pain I went to Safeway to get, I didnt feel too bad as I was still pretty numb. When in the store everyone was kind of looking at me funny and I just figured my mouth was all swelled up. On the way home after that, I felt the collar of my shirt felt kind of wet. Well I looked in the rear view mirror and I looked like friggen GENE SIMMONS of Kiss!!! Blood all over my chin and neck! Glad somebody told me in the store! Anyway after that I bled pretty bad for 3 days, went through the guaze they gave me in about 2 hours, had to sleep on the couch all weekend as I didnt want to get my bed soaked with blood. Ruined 2 shirts though. Lots of fun, good times!

wow i was just thinking about getting mine pulled today my bottom and top are sticking out enough to get pulled its starting to hurt my gums when i brush my teeth cause they are rubbn against them i wonder how much it runs to just pull them im kinda short on funds

Jeez, from what some of you guys went through it seems I had it pretty good!!

Mine cost almost $1200 Canadian. I dunno what that is American, probably in around $800??? Not cheap anyways.

Horrible experience, glad its over and done with!

Had somwhat same experience my bottom 2 had grown outwards into my jaw so he had to cut my jaw open and split the tooth into to pieces to get them out


Had my bottom ones pulled by my family dentist(have had him since i was 2).But the good thing I got vicadin for the day and percadin for the night to kill the pain with some antibiotics...wow it was great was wacked outta my mind for a couple days And dont remember a bit of it

had mine pulled by a Navy dentist. All four in one shot. Had six novicane shots and was awake fo rthe whole thing. Had to break one tooth into several pieces. I got 3 days off work and they hooked me up with many, many percosets so all was good. dude gave me enough to last like a month. So it was beer and percoset good time.. lol

Oh yea, that reminds of something I forgot. Me and percoset dont get along I found out. So after fresh stitches I had to go puke my guts out. So there I am bleeding pretty bad and puking, praying I dont rip my stitches out in the process! Oh the memories.

The dentist said to me a coulpe of weeks ago that I have to get my wisdom teeth pulled in June. I am not looking foward to it.

My dentist says I need to get all 4 of mine taken out. I hate going to the dentist for anything, and now after hearing all these stories I think I'll just have to take them out myself.

Yeah if it weren't for that hot dentist assistant lady person I would never go there.
