Post subject: EI upgrade / dual point ignition in general

What year motors will benifit from an EI upgrade? I have 72 block, which I was told was different from the other wedge-head motors. Any ideas?

The upgrade is mainly to be more efficient with fewer headaches, but my tach needle is bouncing all over the place and buggin me as well. Any ideas on that one? Could the points be bouncing? Seems normal after ~2100rpm.
