 Post subject: rebuild specs

i need the specs for the rockers...mine are tapping bad, even though they're adjusted properly.

i have another set but i want to spec them before i bother taking the top end of my truck apart.

i need to know how worn the pads on the rockers can get before there out of spec. my motor is tappin bad at the top end and it's getting worse. i've had a hard time finding new ones so i want to put the ones that came off my g200 on.

All I can find for that in my chev manual is...

Check the face (valve contact area) of the rocker arms
for step wear, scores, etc. A slight amount of step wear
or scoreing can be corrected with an oil stone or valve
refacer. Replace the rocker arm if wear or damage is
considerable.

the only numbers I could find were for the rocker arm shafts and the hole diameter.

Checking the face seems pretty vague...

that's what i need...... just check em for wear and metal fatigue?

i guess i'll take the old ones out and mic them and compare them to the newer ones.......

the motor i took them out of didn't tap.....i am concerned about the cam that i have in my truck.....i don't like it....there's not enough torque......will the g200 cam spec the same as the stock luv cam?

you might try on the hotgemini.com site for thier info, these guys do crazy stuff wiht the series isuzu engines. and they seem to know a lot of the tech info for them also

when you set the gap, did you do it with the engine hot? i believe it has to be hot for the metal to expand before the gap is set
