I know it is a lot of work to set up another forum, but I had an idea for a new forum. A kind of junkyard want list. I went out to some places this weekend and saw a few parts I know people on this sight have mentioned needing, but couldn't remember who needed what. Maybe a specific place for people list thier wants and people who are headed out to the yards or know where some of these items are can reply back.. A kind of wish list I suppose...

Sounds good, but I know in the past a few folks have asked for stuff, then were unable to come up with the cash. I myself to blame to, So I would tend to be alittle leary of forkin out some cash, and then being stuck with the parts. Kinda like our first go round with the logo's. Just my .02 but I do think its a good idea.

The way I was thinking was more of an "I am looking for this item" and I am out in the yard and see it. I let the person know where, what yard and maybe even a price. Not to broker me obtaining the item, but more to let them know where it is.

Hmmm...

Sounds good to me. If we get enough people that want it, I'll make it.

OH hell yeah :!: :!: :D 8)
I'm ALL for it :multi:

Yall gunna cause me ALOTTA over time on this , but I will come in here and list every single item I have in stock for Luvs :!:

Ben, whatcha think dude :?:  8)

PS (I will NOT feel like my toes are being stepped on by guys finding items in other yards and posting them as well,as some things i am out of stock on right now, and even if it's something I have but it's closer to the buyer, then I am very into trying to help save folks on shipping costs because they are getting higher each day)
Just so everyone knows where I stand on this in advance.

I say "Let's do this" :!: :!: :!: 8) :D

Warning: Bear in mind that I am officially a salvage yard, and any complete trucks or even mostly complete trucks that i find in any yard within 500 miles.......I WILL buy them 8) That's really the only glitch i see in this whole idea.(Cause I know some ppl think I shouldn't have so many trucks) I can't help it.......I am just trying to do my part and help save a dying breed, the more trucks on hand, the more parts available.

ONE vote for "No" :?:
Alright......WHO is the stick in the mud here :?: :!:

I actually started to write a lot longer response here, but it boiled down to this. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'd rather anyone thinking something like that speak up than to have it stewing over in their head. Better to know what someone is thinking than to not. That goes for you knowing you might be gaining some resentment, and Ben and Derek knowing that resentment might be brewing. Crap going unsaid can ruin a good community like this, don't want to see that here. Just make sure what you're saying isn't just said out of spite to be hurtful and I'm probably going to read it.

As for the idea of adding a forum. If anything, just add a simple Wanted: forum to split the "me want" posts from the "me haves". If someone wants to take a scan at the wants forum before they hit a yard then they can. This way you don't target the forum too specific, because you know it will get all sorts of wanted posts anyway. Might as well welcome them.

Hey im just trying to help Ben out. He pays for this website out of his pocket. We donate what we can when he needs it to keep the website running. I didn't mean anything by it, just figured I would throw it out there. :D

I agree. Split the wanted and for sale sections into their own parts. This will be useful not only for salvage yard parts, but in cases where individuals can exchange parts needed. IE...Joe in Oregon needs a part, Bob in Iowa has that part that he doesn't need....Bob sells to Joe...Everyone's happy :D . I think it's a great idea.
