was it a factory A/C truck. I am hpeful to someday find the hard lines under the hood and the compressor and bracket. Any chance???

I'm having the same issues. I think I might have located an aftermarket setup in a local "auto recycler" today on a very clean '79. I posted about it a topic a short while ago. It was made by ARA and seems to still all be there.

I hope so too since our temps here in the summer are triple digit and unrelenting. I already found all of the underdash stuff (stock items) and underhood stuff, with the exception of the metal lines, bracket and compressor. Scored those off a very nice guy for $25. So now either this aftermarket rig or make some lines and find the compressor/bracket and I'm ready to go.

Too bad I just let my A/C truck go. It was complete, but had been un charged for the last 10 years, and had a hose off before that. I can try to track down the new owner and see if I can get the underhood items out of his way if you like, but I don't know if I still have his number.
